Most pilgrims travel from Medina to Mecca after their days at Masjid an-Nabawi, so the trip usually doubles as the start of Umrah. Your driver stops at Masjid Dhul Hulaifah, about 15 minutes from the Haram in Madinah, where you can change into Ihram and pray two rakat before making your intention.

From there the Hijrah Road runs south through the desert with rest stops roughly every hour. We stop whenever you need to for prayer, food or the bathroom. Families with children or elderly passengers often ask for a longer break halfway, which is fine.

How long does it take from Madinah to Makkah by taxi?

The drive is about 450 km and takes 4 to 5 hours, plus the time you spend at the Miqat and any rest stops.

Will the driver stop at the Miqat for Ihram?

Yes. Every Madinah to Makkah trip includes a stop at Masjid Dhul Hulaifah (Abyar Ali), the Miqat for people travelling from Madinah.

Is a taxi better than the Haramain train?

The train is quicker between stations, but you still need transport at both ends with your luggage and you cannot stop at the Miqat mosque. A taxi takes you from hotel to hotel in one trip, which is easier for families and groups.

Yes, we run 24 hours. Many pilgrims leave after Isha so they arrive in Makkah in the early morning when the Haram is quieter.
